New Tracker Keeps Tabs on Trump Appointees’ Conflicts of Interest

Washington, D.C. — Today, Public Citizen launched a new tracker to expose Trump administration appointees’ many corporate conflicts of interest. The tracker will be updated regularly as appointments are made and nominees are considered. The list includes both cabinet-level positions and other political appointments, many of which do not require Senate confirmation.

Appointees already added to the tracker include David Bernhardt, Doug Burgum, Sean Duffy, Howard Lutnick, Linda McMahon, Elon Musk, Andrew Wheeler, Susie Wiles, and Chris Wright.

“Like the first Trump administration, this administration appears ready to staff critical government posts with as many corporate lackeys and self-enriching grifters as they can hire,” said Lisa Gilbert, co-president of Public Citizen.

“Donald Trump may have run for office pretending he was going to advocate for regular people, but his appointments show in reality he’s planning to govern, again, on behalf of the corporate class,” said Robert Weissman, co-president of Public Citizen. “The man who once said he was going to drain the swamp is instead flooding it.”

“The American people deserve to know who these appointees are — and who they’re really serving while in power,” added Gilbert. “We created this tracker to be a resource for journalists, researchers, public interest advocates, and ordinary citizens who are interested in learning about the people who will soon be leading the executive branch. If and when these appointees abuse their power to serve corporate interests or make a quick buck, you can be sure that Public Citizen will be there to expose them.”
