Biden Is Standing Up for Consumers Against Corporate Greed
WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Biden’s annual State of the Union address tonight is expected to touch on competition, credit card junk fees, tax filing, and other ways his administration is standing up for consumers against corporate greed. Lisa Gilbert, executive vice president of Public Citizen, released the following statement:
“While Republicans in Congress are struggling to keep the lights on, President Biden is standing up for consumers against corporate greed. Among other things, his administration is fighting monopolistic corporate mergers that raise prices and hurt workers, cracking down on credit card junk fees, fighting to ensure wealthy tax cheats pay their fair share, and making tax filing easier through a Direct File program. More of this, please!”
