Noble v. National Ass’n of Letter Carriers
Online Rights in Union Elections – A member of the National Association of Letter Carriers who planned to run for union president sued the union pro se, seeking among other things the ability to send campaign literature by email to the union membership. The union hired a firm to provide those services, at a price was several times higher that the normal market price for bulk emailing services, and then moved to dismiss his complaint as moot. After the union member asked to be allowed to choose a bulk emailing provider whose prices were lower, we opposed the motion to dismiss and moved for leave to amend his complaint. The union then hired a much cheaper provider, and we agreed to dismiss the complaint.
