Challenge To JP Morgan’s Control Over IIF

In direct response to a request by Public Citizen, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission opened a full hearing to investigate Public Citizen’s allegation that the Wall Street bank JP Morgan Chase & Co secretly controls the private equity firm IIF. IIF controls a large fleet of fossil fuel power plants, El Paso Electric, a natural gas utility, and a number of other energy assets. Today Public Citizen filed a reply brief detailing the many reasons why JP Morgan must be considered a legal affiliate of IIF. It is FERC Docket No. EL21-36.
